tony gonzalez-3-831x1024Anthony David Gonzalez (born February 27th in 1976) is a former American football tight end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons. He is thought to be one of the greatest tight ends to ever play, and currently is the most successful NFL tight end, in terms of receiving yards and receptions by tight ends. Gonzalez is third in total receptions. Gonzalez's initial 12 seasons were played with the Kansas City Chiefs. In 1997, he was selected in the first round. The last five seasons being with the Falcons, he was a part of the Atlanta Falcons. Gonzalez retired in 2013, is an analyst for NFL on Prime Video. Prior to this, he worked at CBS Sports, Fox Sports, and Fox Sports. Gonzalez also was awarded six All-Pros. Gonzalez was recognized for his durability and ability to not fumble. He played in 272 of 270 regular-season games and only lost two fumbles in 1,327 total touches. In the year 2019 Gonzalez was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
